Professional background
Arthur O’Meara brings with him 16 years’ experience in international trade and trade compliance. Mr. O’Meara provides project leadership in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to Customs and Border Protection regulations, Bureau of Industry and Security regulations, and International Traffic in Arms regulations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) latest initiative: supply chain security. Mr. O’Meara creates and leads training programs focusing on the strategic application of: freight terms, transfer pricing, tariff classification, customs broker management, and terms and conditions in international and domestic commerce and supply chain security (especially focusing on C-TPAT and ISF). He has traveled with CBP for the C-TPAT Validation of plants in the U.S. , Mexico, Europe and India .
Mr. O’Meara has spoken in the U.S., Mexico, Europe at both public conferences and seminars and within private organizations. He has spoken at events for the International Compliance Professional Association, is the President of and has given seminars at the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago (ITAGC) and is on the American Association of Exporters and Importers’ (AAEI) Customs Committee. He has worked all over the world as a sailor, SCUBA instructor, commodities trader and customs broker. He is a Licensed Customs Broker with an MBA from DePaul University.
