Professional background
As the Manager for International Trade at Robert Bosch Corporation’s North American headquarters in Broadview, IL Arthur O’Meara brings with him 13 years’ experience in international trade and trade compliance. Mr. O’Meara provides project leadership in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to Customs and Border Protection regulations, Bureau of Industry and Security regulations, and International Traffic in Arms regulations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) latest initiative: supply chain security. He has led the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) certification for all Bosch plants in the U.S. and Mexico, and has worked directly with CBP for Bosch’s Importer Self Assessment (ISA) certification. Mr. O’Meara creates and leads training programs focusing on the strategic application of: freight terms, transfer pricing, freight-rate negotiation, tariff classification, customs broker management, and terms and conditions in international and domestic commerce and supply chain security (especially focusing on C-TPAT and 10+2). He has traveled with CBP for the C-TPAT Validation of plants in the U.S. , Mexico, Europe and India .
Last year, Mr. O’Meara managed the compliance activity for business units that generated over $3 billion in sales and ~60,000 imports.
Mr. O’Meara has spoken in the U.S., Mexico, Europe at both public conferences and seminars and within private organizations. He has spoken at events for the International Compliance Professional Association, is on the Board of Directors for and has given seminars at the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago (ITAGC) and is on the American Association of Exporters and Importers’ (AAEI) Supply Chain Security Subcommittee. He has worked all over the world as a sailor, SCUBA instructor, commodities trader and customs broker. He is a Licensed Customs Broker with an MBA from DePaul University.
